Black Maternal Mortality- Systemic and Structural Factors Contributing to Disproportionate Rates of Black Maternal Death during Childbirth

Aim/Purpose: The purpose of this article is to raise awareness regarding the systemic issues contributing disproportionate death rates Black women during child birthing process. Background: Understanding how are at risk dying childbirth, adresses outside factors in order expand discourse related topic. Methodology: Data was collected through available archival data, medical experiments and studies from peer-reviewed journals, news articles self reported accounts racism within field. Findings: Research United States has identified a maternal mortality rate over 3.55 times that white women. Causes for said deaths relate various cardiovascular conditions, source which can be traced injustice. Impact on Society: desired impact study shed light an ongoing issue continuously been discussed surface level. Unpacking allows rebuilding healthcare system prevent further unnecessary deaths.
